About
Horrible Histories — the book and TV series that made history entertaining, disgusting, and hilarious for children — tours live stage shows across UK theatres. The shows bring the Horrible Histories format to life with songs, sketches, and gleeful descriptions of the most revolting aspects of history, performed by an energetic cast. The stage shows typically focus on a particular period or theme — Terrible Tudors, Awful Egyptians, Rotten Romans — and manage the trick of being genuinely educational while making children (and their parents) laugh out loud. The songs are catchy, the production values are high, and the audience participation is enthusiastic. Shows tour to theatres across the UK throughout the year, with runs typically lasting 1-2 performances per venue. Check the touring schedule for dates near you. Suitable for children aged 5 and up. The adults secretly enjoy it as much as the kids — the historical accuracy is impressive and the writing is genuinely witty. A brilliant introduction to live theatre for young children.
