Henley Royal Regatta 2026

Henley Royal Regatta is the most prestigious rowing event in the world and one of the great events of the English summer social calendar. For five days in July, the Thames at Henley-on-Thames becomes the stage for elite rowing from around the world, with a straight course marked by wooden booms and lined with enclosures, boat tents, and spectators in blazers and summer dresses. The Stewards' Enclosure is the smart end (invitation and membership only — strict dress code), but general admission on the towpath and the public enclosures is where most people watch. The racing is exciting — side-by-side knockout format with the cox's calls and the splash of oars amplified by the narrow course. The atmosphere combines genuine sporting intensity with a very English social occasion. Henley is a charming Thames-side town and the pubs, restaurants, and riverside picnic spots are all in use during regatta week. Dress smartly (the whole town dresses up), bring a picnic blanket, and settle in. The regatta runs from Wednesday to Sunday, with the finals on Sunday.
