London NYE Fireworks 2026

About
London's New Year's Eve fireworks display is one of the biggest in the world — a spectacular pyrotechnic show launched from the London Eye, the South Bank, and barges on the Thames, synchronised to music and broadcast live by the BBC. The display typically lasts about 12 minutes and lights up the entire central London skyline. The event is ticketed — free access to the viewing areas ended several years ago. Tickets are allocated by ballot and cost around £15 per person, with designated viewing areas along the South Bank, Victoria Embankment, and surrounding areas. Each area has big screens and sound systems. The atmosphere is festive and international — London's NYE draws visitors from around the world. If you don't get tickets, Primrose Hill, Parliament Hill on Hampstead Heath, and various rooftop bars offer alternative views (though the fireworks are designed to be seen from the river). The Tube runs all night with free travel after 23:45. Dress very warmly — you'll be standing outside for several hours. The midnight countdown, the explosions of colour over Big Ben and the Eye, and the cheering of hundreds of thousands of people is a properly memorable way to see in the new year.
