The Six Nations is the pinnacle of northern hemisphere rugby union, and England vs Wales is one of its fiercest fixtures. Twickenham on match day is an extraordinary atmosphere — 82,000 fans, the pre-match build-up on the concourse, Swing Low blasting from the speakers, and the roar when the teams emerge. The rivalry between England and Wales is deep and genuine — centuries of history compressed into 80 minutes of rugby. The atmosphere in the stands, the singing from the Welsh contingent, and the intensity on the pitch make this one of the great sporting occasions in the British calendar. Tickets are extremely difficult to get through official channels — most go to clubs and corporate. The RFU ballot is worth entering. Pubs in Twickenham and across London show the match and the atmosphere is excellent. The walk from Twickenham station to the ground, swept along with thousands of fans, is part of the experience.
