About
New Scientist Live is the magazine's annual science festival at ExCeL London — four days of talks, demonstrations, workshops, and interactive exhibits covering cutting-edge science and technology. The event brings together leading researchers, engineers, and thinkers to share the latest developments in everything from space exploration to brain science, AI to climate solutions. The exhibition floor is divided into themed zones — cosmos, earth, technology, engineering, and human — each with stages for short talks, interactive exhibits, and hands-on demonstrations. The headline talks in the main theatre feature the biggest names in science communication. The atmosphere is enthusiastic and curious — part science fair, part TED, part comic convention. The family programme is excellent, with dedicated workshops and activities for children. Day tickets give you access to the exhibition floor and the smaller stages, with headline talks often requiring separate booking. ExCeL London is huge and well-served by transport. A great day out for anyone curious about science — no prior expertise required, just enthusiasm.
