About
Komedia is Brighton's premier comedy and cabaret venue — a multi-purpose arts space in the North Laine area that's been making people laugh since 1994. The main room is a flexible 400-capacity space that transforms from comedy club to live music venue to family show depending on the night. The comedy programming is outstanding — the Krater Comedy Club (Saturdays) and Bent Double (the UK's longest-running LGBTQ+ comedy night) are institutions. Major touring comedians regularly perform here, and Brighton's status as a creative city means the local comedy circuit is strong. The venue also hosts cabaret, spoken word, kids' shows, and live music. The atmosphere is warm and inclusive — Brighton's famously open-minded spirit permeates the room. The bar is decent, the seating is café-style (tables rather than rows), and the intimacy of the space means every seat feels close to the action. It's also a brilliant venue for family shows on weekend afternoons. Book ahead for Saturday night comedy — it sells out regularly.
