Green Park Station Market
About
Green Park Station is a beautiful Victorian railway terminus that lost its trains in 1966 but found a new life as one of Bath's best market spaces. The iron-and-glass train shed now houses a weekly market that runs every Saturday (and selected other days), with local produce, artisan food, vintage finds, and crafts beneath the soaring roof. The Saturday morning market is the main event — local cheeses, cured meats, fresh bread, plants, vintage clothing, and hot food stalls. The quality is consistently good, and the atmosphere is convivial — locals come to stock up, have breakfast, and catch up with friends. The food stalls (Middle Eastern, Indian, French crêpes) are a draw in themselves. The station building is worth appreciating on its own merits — the Victorian ironwork, the original canopy, and the industrial-era details are impressive. The adjacent Green Park Brasserie occupies the old station buildings. On market days, the combination of Victorian architecture, good food, and Saturday-morning sociability makes this one of the most enjoyable markets in the south-west.
