About

Norwegian Church, Harbour Drive, Cardiff Bay CF10 4PA

Coffi Co is a small, independent Welsh coffee shop chain that's become a Cardiff institution, and the Cardiff Bay location — in the Norwegian Church — is the most atmospheric of the lot. The Norwegian Church itself is a charming white wooden building on the waterfront that was originally built in 1868 for the Norwegian sailors who worked in the docks. Roald Dahl was christened here. The coffee is excellent — properly sourced, well-roasted, and made with care. The cakes and pastries are homemade and often Welsh-inspired. The setting inside the church, with its simple white interior and views across the bay, makes it one of the most pleasant places in Cardiff to sit with a cup of coffee and watch the world go by. The church also functions as an arts and events space, hosting small exhibitions, concerts, and community events. The waterside location, combined with the Dahl connection and the quality of the coffee, makes this a lovely spot — particularly on a weekend morning before exploring the rest of Cardiff Bay. A small, genuine place in a city that values its independents.
