The Shard Viewing Gallery
About
At 310 metres, The Shard is the tallest building in Western Europe, and The View from The Shard on floors 68-72 offers a perspective on London that nothing else can match. On a clear day you can see for 40 miles in every direction — the city laid out beneath you like an intricate living map. The open-air observation deck on Level 72 is the highlight — the wind in your hair, the city far below, and on a sunny day the combination of height and light is genuinely exhilarating. The lower viewing floors have telescopes, interactive screens, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Sunset visits are particularly spectacular as the city transitions from daylight to a galaxy of lights. It's expensive, so time your visit wisely. Book online for significant savings over walk-up prices. The early morning 'Sunrise' sessions are the most magical (and least crowded). If the weather is overcast, consider postponing — the views are the whole point, and low cloud means you'll see nothing but grey.
