About

King's Road, Brighton BN1 2FN

Shelter Hall is Brighton's smartest food hall — a stunning Victorian seafront building that's been transformed into a curated collection of independent food traders. The two-storey building, with its arched windows overlooking the sea, was originally a Victorian shelter for seafront promenaders, and the restoration has preserved its character beautifully. The traders are carefully selected and the quality is consistently high: expect wood-fired pizza, sushi, tacos, barbecue, and excellent coffee, all served in a gorgeous setting with sea views. The first-floor terrace, looking out over the beach and the Palace Pier, is one of Brighton's best spots for eating and drinking. Shelter Hall fills a gap in Brighton's food scene — somewhere between casual street food and a sit-down restaurant. The communal seating encourages mixing, and the atmosphere on a busy evening is buzzy and social. It's open seven days a week and stays open late, making it a flexible option for lunch, dinner, or late-night food after a night out along the seafront.
