Depot Mayfield
About
Depot Mayfield is a colossal former railway depot behind Piccadilly Station that's become one of the most exciting cultural and nightlife spaces in Manchester. The Warehouse Project relocated here in 2019, and the raw industrial scale of the venue — a cavernous brick-and-steel cathedral that once housed trains — gives club nights an atmosphere that purpose-built venues simply can't match. Beyond WHP season (September to January), the depot hosts major live music events, food festivals, immersive theatre, and cultural programming. The surrounding Mayfield development is gradually transforming the area with a new public park and creative spaces. The venue itself retains its industrial character — expect concrete, exposed brick, and the kind of scale that makes you feel small in the best possible way. The Warehouse Project nights are legendary and sell out fast — book early. The sound system is phenomenal, the lineups consistently world-class, and the crowd is up for it. Wear comfortable shoes (concrete floors all night), layer up (it's cold until the crowd arrives), and be prepared for thorough security. This is where Manchester's reputation as a music city is renewed every weekend.
