About
Tramshed is one of Wales's best live music venues — a converted Edwardian tram depot in the Grangetown area of Cardiff that hosts everything from major touring bands to club nights, comedy, and corporate events. The main room holds around 1,000 standing (or 350 seated) and has excellent sightlines and sound. The building is gorgeous — high ceilings, exposed steelwork, and enough industrial character to make every event feel special. The programming is broad: indie, hip-hop, metal, electronic, folk, punk, and everything in between, plus regular comedy nights. The venue has established itself as a key stop on the UK touring circuit, sitting perfectly between pub venues and arenas. The bar is decent, the staff are friendly, and the Grangetown location — while slightly off the beaten track — is easily walkable from the city centre. The venue has a genuine commitment to Welsh music, frequently booking local artists alongside bigger names.
