About
Brighton Festival is England's largest annual curated arts festival — three weeks in May with theatre, dance, music, visual art, film, and outdoor events across the city. A different Guest Director each year gives each edition a distinctive flavour. The Children's Parade is a joyful opening. Open Houses — where artists across Brighton open studios and homes as galleries — lets you explore parts of the city you'd never otherwise see. Brighton in May is at its best, and the festival spills into streets, parks, and beaches. Many events are free or low-cost. The Brighton Fringe (open-access) runs alongside, adding hundreds more shows. One of the most exciting and accessible arts festivals in the UK.
