About
Manchester Christmas Markets are the largest Christmas markets in the UK outside London — spreading across multiple city centre locations from Albert Square to St Ann's Square, Exchange Square, Cathedral Gardens, and beyond. Over 300 stalls sell crafts, gifts, food, and drink from across Europe. Each area has its own character: Albert Square has the main market with a bar and giant Santa, the French and German sections bring continental flavour, and the food stalls offer everything from bratwurst to Yorkshire pudding wraps. The mulled wine and hot chocolate flow freely. The markets run from mid-November to late December and are at their most atmospheric on cold, dark evenings when the lights sparkle. Weekday lunchtimes and early afternoons are calmer. The markets have become a significant part of Manchester's identity and draw visitors from across the north.
