Concorde 2
About
Concorde 2 is Brighton's most important live music venue — a 600-capacity room on the seafront at Madeira Drive that has hosted some of the most memorable gigs in the city's history. The low-ceilinged room creates an intensity that bigger venues can't match, and the programming is consistently excellent: indie, electronic, hip-hop, rock, and club nights from both established names and rising artists. The venue sits right on the beach, and on a summer evening the combination of live music and sea air is hard to beat. The sound system is excellent for the room size, and the layout means most of the audience has a decent view of the stage. Big Night Out and other regular club nights have become Brighton institutions. Concorde 2 is the kind of venue that makes a city's music scene — it's big enough to attract serious touring artists but small enough that every gig feels special. The seafront location means you can combine an evening here with dinner on the beach or a walk along Madeira Drive. Tickets are usually good value. Check listings — if something good is on, don't hesitate.
